Note from Coach Janet... Monday, February 13, 2012 Congrats to all of the swimmers for putting their heart and hard work to use on Saturday. We had 51 swimmers (2nd largest group) compete with 30 (14 girls, 16 boys) qualifying for State...very exciting! For practice, we will have two sessions each day (instead of three). If your swimmer normally practices in the first or second session, your swimmer will be in the first session. If you practiced in the last session, your swimmer will swim in the seond session. Monday/Wednesday 1st Session -- 6:00 - 7:00 2nd Session -- 7:00 - 8:15 Tuesday/Thursday 1st Session -- 3:45 - 4:45 2nd Session -- 4:45 - 5:45 See the practice schedule HERE. Sectional, State & Regional Meet Informaiton
|
Sectional and State Information & Links The Sectional Meet is the qualifying meet for the State Meet. To be eligible to compete at Sectional, the swimmer must swim in three YMCA closed meets prior to the Sectional Meet. To qualify for the State Meet, the swimmer must equal or better the state qualifying time for any given event AT THE SECTIONAL MEET. A swimmer may also qualify by placing first in his/her event in the Sectional Meet. More information about both the Sectional and State Meets is available at the following site:
Midwest Regional Information & Links This is a NON-YMCA meet. To qualify for the Regional Meet, the swimmer must meet qualifying times at any meet DURING THE SEASON. A list of events and qualifying times is available, usually on the bulletin board in the viewing area of the YMCA. If your swimmer has a qualifying time, please notify the coaches. We are a Swim Team located in Southeastern Iowa, with our home being the Mahaska County YMCA of Oskaloosa.
Statement of Purpose • Support the philosophy of the YMCA and its Competitive Swim Program. • Any parent, guardian, or volunteer participating in the Competitive Swim Program is automatically part of the Swim Team Parents' Organization. • No dues are required to be part of this organization. • Support and respect the decision of the YMCA and Coach. • Work with the YMCA and Coach to promote teamwork and good sportsmanship. • The Parent's Organizational meeting shall be held prior the start of the Swim Team season. • Officers shall be elected at the conclusion of the Swim Team season and shall consist of a President(s), Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer. Election of officers will be by majority vote of all present at the meeting. • Parents' Organizational Board shall consist of an executive committee (President(s), Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer) with Aquatic Director, Coach, and State Representative as ex-officio members. |
